It is open to all students involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports, entering college in the Fall of 2020 as a Freshman at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree. Sponsor: Foot Locker Stores Young Filmmakers Contest Amount: Up to $1,000 Apply By: January 5, 2020 Description: Contest is open to students in grades 3 through college (ages 8 and up) from the United States. Student must create a film on one of many given topics related to the Earth. Sponsor: One Earth Film Festival C-SPAN’s StudentCam Documentary Competition Award: Up to $5,000 Apply by: January 20, 2020 Description: The competition is open to all students in grades 6-12 who will explore the issue you most want presidential candidates to address during the campaign. Grades 6-8 compete in the Middle School category, and grades 9-12 compete in the High School category. (The competition requires a video submission.) Sponsor: C-Span/StudentCam The Profile in Courage Essay Contest Amount: Up to $10,000 Apply By: January 17, 2020 Description: The Profile in Courage Essay Contest Scholarship is open to high school students. To be eligible, you must submit a 700 to 1000 word essay that describes and analyzes an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. GED students under the age of 20 may also apply. Sponsor: John F Kennedy Library Presidential Library and Museum Girls Impact the World Amount: $5000 Apply By: January 20, 2020 Description: The Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarship is available to full time high school and undergraduate students who are ages 25 and under. To be considered, you must submit an original, three to six minute short film that addresses global womens issues such as: education for girls, maternal health, violence against women and girls, or a variety of other issues. Sponsor: ConnectHer The Stand Up Men Award Amount: $2500 ApplyBy: January 20, 2020 Description: The Stand Up Men Award Scholarship is open to 8th graders, high school students, and undergraduate students under the age of 25 and of any gender. Applicant must submit an original 3-6 minute film on any man they know who is taking a stand to prevent violence against women and/or standing up for women’s rights. Sponsor: ConnectHer Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest Amount: Up to $5,000 Closing Date: January 21, 2020 Description: Contest is open to registered undergraduate full-time juniors and seniors at accredited four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to an ethical issue. Sponsor: Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship Amount: $1000 Apply By: January 30, 2020 Description: The Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate or graduate students. You must be U.S. citizen or legal resident and submit a 140-character message that relates to technology addiction to qualify for this award. Sponsor: Digital Responsibility The National Ag Day Essay Contest Amount: $1000 Apply By: January 30, 2020 Description: The National Ag Day Essay Contest Scholarship is available to high school students. To be considered, you must submit an original essay of 450 words or less, or a two-minute video, on the following topic: â€Å"Agriculture: Food for Life. How Does Our Nation Lead the Way?† Sponsor: Agriculture Council of America Child of Divorce/Single Parent Household Scholarship Amount: $1,000 Apply By: January 31, 2020 Description: The Child of Divorce/Single Parent Household Scholarship is open to high school seniors who have been accepted and current undergraduate and graduate students who come from a divorced/single parent household. Applicant will submit an essay on a topic pertaining to individuals who are the product of a single parent or divorced household. Sponsor: Miller Law Group Opportunity Scholarship for Locked-Out Dreamers Amount: Up to $80,000 over four years Apply By: January 31, 2020 Description: The Opportunity for Locked-Out DREAMers Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and high school graduates who live in targeted, locked-out states that do not offer in-state tuition to DREAMers, or bars them from attending state colleges and universities all together. Sponsor: TheDream.US Pre-Health Professions Scholarship Contest Amount: Up to $1,000 Apply By: January 31, 2020 Description: The Pre-Health Professionals Scholarship is open to undergraduate students in the U.S. who want to pursue a future in a health profession (doctor, speech pathologist, dentist, pharmacist, etc.) Sponsor: NextStep Test Prep National High School Oratorical Contest Amount: Varies up to $18,000 Apply By: Varies Description: The National High School Oratorical Contest is open to junior high and high school students who are under the age of 20 and citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States. You must prepare an oration on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government. Each individual state winner certified into and participating in the first round of the national contest receives an additional $1,500 scholarship. Sponsor: The American Legion Treat Yo Friends Amount: $5000 Apply by: January 31, 2020 Description: You could win an easy $5,000 scholarship just by making an IOU (â€Å"I owe you†) activity booklet for a friend to celebrate what makes them unique and different. We’ll give you a template and easy instructions to make the IOU booklet all you have to do is think of activities your friend loves. Sponsor: Do Something
